Marie Mendoza is a Chicago-based audio producer and journalist. She's the midday producer at WBEZ (Chicago's NPR station), where she contributes to daily news, creates sound-rich radio stories, and supports longer-term editorial projects.
Her work spans a slate of shows at WBEZ, including Motive, Curious City, and Reset with Sasha-Ann Simons. In addition, she was the producer on the serialized narrative podcast from TMI Productions and APM Studios, She Has a Name, hosted by Fresh Air's Tonya Mosley.
Her stories have been featured in South Side Weekly, the Chicago Sun-Times, and Latino USA. Marie earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Northwestern University, where she got her start in radio at WNUR 89.3 FM.
